Clinical Pharmacists – An important part of your healthcare team

Their advanced training and knowledge can truly make a difference in your care. They can quickly spot problems with drug interactions or potentially harmful drug reactions. They can also teach you how to properly use your medications. Working closely with other members of the healthcare team, pharmacists also help with disease management. They can offer suggestions on more cost-effective treatments. Patients who are on more than one medication with complex, long-term conditions (like diabetes or congestive heart failure) especially benefit from using our pharmacists. So don’t be surprised if you get a call from one of our clinical pharmacists asking about how that new medication is working. They take an interactive role in your care.

Our Clinical Pharmacists

Mirjeta Bytyqi, PharmD

Mirjeta Bytyqi is a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences PharmD program in Worcester and has been practicing pharmacy for eight years. She chose this career path because she wanted to improve her patients’ health and well-being, as well as position herself as an important part of the health care team and the community. Her area of expertise is in patient counseling and education. Mirjeta is an Immunizing Pharmacist who is also bilingual.

Rita Fettig, RPh

A graduate from the University of Rhode Island, Rita Fettig is a Registered Pharmacist who has been working in the pharmacy field for 22 years. She has experience working in several different areas of pharmacy, including retail, mail order, managed care, long-term care, training and development, and specialty pharmacy, with a primary focus on autoimmune disorders, hepatitis C, and oral oncology treatments. She has also had several years of experience performing Drug Utilization reviews, which helps to ensure that patients are taking their medications safely and correctly.

Folasade Foose, PharmD

Folasade Foose received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Worcester. Folasade has always been interested in the healthcare field, but she wanted to do something other than become a physician or a nurse. When a family member became sick as a result of an adverse effect from a medication, she realized how much potential there was for making a difference as a pharmacist. Folasade is a Certified Immunizing Pharmacist who focuses heavily on patient education.

Eleni Muska, PharmD

Eleni Muska graduated from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Worcester with a Doctorate of Pharmacy. Eleni chose the medical field based on her love for science since she was young. She has also been passionate about helping people her entire life, so her career as a clinical pharmacist was a natural combination of her interests. Being an easily accessible health care provider has allowed Eleni to create lasting bonds with both patients and medical staff.

Richard J. Simon, PharmD

Richard Simon obtained both his bachelor’s degree and his doctorate from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy Boston. He has been practicing pharmacy for over 25 years, working in a variety of areas, including hospital, retail, pediatrics, and medication management. Richard became a pharmacist because he finds a lot of satisfaction in being able to help people. He enjoys work alongside other health professionals in order to promote better healthcare.

Clinical pharmacy
